Eutelsats German direct-to-cable platform KabelKiosk has commenced the transition of its cable head-end feed from the orbital position 8 West to 9 East.
The complete offer is now available on the new satellite Eurobird 9A (9 East) with transmissions on the previously used Atlantic Bird 2 (8 West) ending on 15 July. The three-month changeover period will enable cable companies to realign their head-ends to the new position.
The new high performance satellite Eurobird 9A, positioned at 9 East in mid-February, almost doubles the number of available transponders from 20 to 38, said KabelKiosk managing director Martina Rutenbeck in Cologne. This enormous capacity increase creates an important premise for the further development of KabelKiosk.
KabelKiosk supplies more than 250 cable companies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Luxemburg and Denmark with digital free-to-air and pay-TV offers.
