Extreme Sports is to launch a new dedicated feed for the French market on April 14 2006. The move will be supported by an on-air campaign and an update of the French version of its website. Managing director Phil Jones told Broadband TV News the French version followed the successful launch of a Polish version earlier this year. There are advantages in being able to do more local marketing and PR that can concentrate on the best content. While surfing is not a popular pastime in Poland, there is interest in skateboarding and snowboarding. Extreme has commissioned a new series of its flagship show GenEx from local production company Watch Us that will look at the French extreme sports scene.
